At Tech Unbloated, we respect your privacy and process personal data with extreme restraint. We believe in transparency and data minimization.
Global Privacy Control (GPC)
We automatically honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal broadcast by your browser. When GPC is enabled, all non-essential analytics and third-party services are immediately disabled without prompting.
Data Collection & Cookies
We use essential browser storage strictly for site functionality, such as remembering your consent preferences and dark mode setting. Analytics, comments, and third-party embeds are blocked until explicit consent is provided.
Comments
If you accept Comments, the article discussion form loads. Submissions go to a first-party Cloudflare Worker at comments.techunbloated.com and are stored in a database we control. We keep the name and text you enter, a hash of the submitting IP address used only to rate-limit spam, and a moderation status. Comments are not published until they are approved. You can write to contact@techunbloated.com to ask that a comment be removed.
Analytics
If you accept Analytics, we load Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity through Google Tag Manager. Google Analytics provides aggregate traffic and content-use reports that can include approximate location (including city), browser and operating-system information, and device details. Clarity captures interaction data such as clicks, scrolling, navigation paths, browser and device details, and uses it to produce heatmaps and session replays. We use this information to understand which articles are useful and to find usability problems.
Clarity honors our Google Consent Mode signal and does not load before Analytics consent. Microsoft masks sensitive text and input content by default, but the service may use pseudonymous identifiers and first- and third-party cookies after consent. You can withdraw consent at any time through Cookie Preferences. See Microsoft's Privacy Statement for Microsoft's data practices.
Preferred Sources
The site header and footer link to Google's source-preferences tool so readers can add Tech Unbloated as a preferred source. Those are navigation links to Google, not a script we load. Google's own page is governed by Google's privacy policy.
Advertising
We load Google's AdSense script so Google can verify the site and assess its readiness for advertising. No display-ad placements are currently configured, and Google's advertising storage, user-data, and personalization consent signals remain denied. Our external Free eBooks library is a sponsored TradePub partnership and is disclosed where it is linked and on our Affiliate Disclosure page.
